Welcome to
Brand Footprint
India 2025
Indian consumers faced high food price inflation during 2024, which only eased towards the end of the year. Regardless, shoppers’ reliance on packaged foods grew – reflected in the fact that it was the brands in the snacking and beverage categories that jumped the most places up the Brand Footprint ranking.
There was another landmark in the year with two brands, Parle and Britannia, both breaching the 8 billion Consumer Reach Point (CRP) threshold. There are now 32 brands in the 1 million CRP club, a rise from 28 the previous year.
Growth in FMCG shopping trips has stagnated – but despite that there has been a more than 4% increase in the combined CRPs of India’s most chosen brands, taking the total to 120 billion.
This expansion – in the face of an inflationary environment, and slowing FMCG volume growth – is a great testament to shoppers’ resilience, and aspirations. Local brands have a particularly strong footing in the ranking, and they have continued to grow over the past year, particularly on the back of extending into new markets.
Ultimately, the 2025 Brand Footprint India ranking proves that penetration remains the key driver for growth – and you will find a feature on that in this report. Do read it.
